Operations through national payment system on major payments increase more than 11 percent

In October 2010, payments operated through the Azerbaijan Interbank Payment System (AZIPS) hit 6.42 billion manat, which is 11.2 percent more than the figure of the same period of 2009, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) said.

In October 2010, payments operated through the Azerbaijan Interbank Payment System (AZIPS) hit 6.42 billion manat, which is 11.2 percent more than the figure of the same period of 2009, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) said.

Amount of payments though AZIPS in October increased by 7.5 percent. In September it hit 5.971 billion manat.

In October, transactions through the Azerbaijan's low-value settlements and clearing system (XONKS) hit 552 million manat, decreasing by 1.8 percent. This figure amounted to 562 million manat. Amount of payments through XONKS   increased by 5.6 percent compared to October of 2009.

Payments operated through AZIPS hit 29,000 and XONKS - and 735,000. In October the number of AZIPS users totaled 50and XONKS users hit 53.

Official exchange rate is 0.8000 manat to $1 Nov.10.
