Representatives of the German business community have not faced any problems in Azerbaijan since Germany and Azerbaijan signed an agreement on avoiding double taxation, German Ambassador to Azerbaijan Herbert Quelle said at a meeting with Azerbaijani Tax Minister Fazil Mammadov, the ministry's Taxes newspaper reported.
Quelle said signing of the agreement created a solid foundation for expanding economic relations between the two countries. The creation of the German-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce, which will open in Baku soon, is a positive step in this direction. It will also represent Azerbaijan to the entire international community as a reliable partner, the diplomat said.
Mammadov noted that the country has a strong legal base to protect and promote foreign investments and a favorable investment sphere. He added that this was achieved through long-term political stability.
