During the first three quarters of 2010, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has kept a "window of liquidity" open, as a result of which surplus of liquidity operations increased from 1,454 billion manat in early 2010 to 1709.4 million manat at the end of the third quarter, the Central Bank's report on monetary policy says.
During nine months, the CBA placed the notes worth 170 million manat in the market, while the volume of repo operations on framework tools hit 582 million manat.
During the reporting period, the volume of notes in circulation, compared to early 2010 increased by 2.3 times and amounted to 18 million manat as of October 1, and the rests from the repo operations - six million manat.
During the reporting period, although the average profitability on the notes amounted to one percent, the demand was great and placed amount of notes hit 83 percent of total amount of emissions.
