"900,000 tourists visited Adjara this year and it is important to develop new projects to increase this number to 1 million," head of the Adjaran government Levan Varshalomidze said today.
In his view, the region's potential must be used to the maximum.
Varshalomidze said more than 60 mineral springs, as well as over 10 mud springs with medicinal properties, have been discovered in Adjara.
"If we use these resources properly, then more than 1 million tourists will visit our highlands alone," he noted.
Varshalomidze stressed that at least 20 new tourist spots will welcome guests in the country's mountainous regions during the next holiday season.
