Livestock production increases in Azerbaijan

Total livestock production increased by 6.4 percent in January-October compared to same period last year in Azerbaijan. Total agricultural production fell by 3.6 percent durng the year, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee reported.

Roughly 271,700 tons of meat and poultry were produced, in addition to 1,281,100 tons of milk, 992.900 million eggs and 15,300 tons of wool. Meat production increased by 6.9 percent, with milk production growing by 7.6 percent, eggs production growing by 0.8 percent and wool production growing by 3.1 percent compared to 2009.

Farms in the country's regions sold 1,458 cattle, 8,019 sheep and goats, and 44,600 cows artificially fertilized, buffaloes and calves to improve pedigree cattle.
