Georgian sailors may not be allowed to work on ships entering EU countries' ports, the Minister of Economics and Sustainable Development Vera Kobalia said while visiting Batumi's Naval Academy.

She said that the Georgian Transport Administration has already got relevant notice about the possible ban and has taken steps to avoid all feasible complications.

European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) conducted research in Georgian Transport Administration Service in 2006-2007 and a notice concerning certain regulatory violations was received this year by the Transport Administration.

A group of experts from EMSA will visit Georgia in December. They will study the local situation and elaborate on recommendations.
