Georgian government decreases expenses

Spokesperson for Georgian Prime Minister Niko Mchedlishvili said the deficit in the 2011-state budget must be decreased at the expense of reduction in appetite of the bureaucracy apparatus.

The government decided to reduce by 10 percent the expenditures of all ministries and departments. The government also declared a complete moratorium on the purchase of government vehicles and increase of officials' salaries, he said.

Mchedlishvili said the budget deficit in 2011 is reduced from 6.3 percent to 4.3 percent.
