It is planned to build a new runway at the Tbilisi International Airport. According to the Georgian Economy Minister Vera Kobalia, the existing runway requires rehabilitation.
"The existing runway requires rehabilitation, so we decided to start building a new runway in parallel regime," Kobalia said.
According to her, design works are already underway. The amount, which is necessary for design has not been yet determined at this stage, however, the minister said, the French Government will allocate certain amount to finance the construction.
Construction of a new runway will start in early 2011.
