From March to November, Iran's iron ore production increased by 5.5 percent to about 18 million tons, Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) reported.
According to IMIDRO, iron ore production in November increased by 10.6 percent compared to the same period last year.
During this period, Iran's cathode copper production increased by 85 percent and amounted to 147,190 tons. Cathode copper production in November increased by six percent compared to the same period last year.
The Iranian Mines and Iranian Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) was established for the purpose of evaluating and determining the overall strategies and policies, implementation of the projects relating to the construction and the renovation of metal related industries, extraction and processing of mineral products as well as implementing exploration projects.
Based on the Iranian Council of Minister's decree and in accordance to clause (A) of Article 4 of Iran's 3rd Economic, Social and Cultural Development Plan Law, IMIDRO was defined as a specialized mother company, which would control 63 subsidiaries companies.
