The Ministry of Taxes held a meeting with the management of the project of the Agency for International Development (USAID) "Competition and trade in Azerbaijan". The areas of future cooperation were determined there, the ministry said.
Deputy Minister of Taxes Sahib Alekperov stressed the importance of strengthening ties between Azerbaijan and USAID. He said that Azerbaijan is interested in closer relations with both foreign countries and international organizations.
Sheila Young, Director of the USAID Economic Growth Department, said that the main objective of the project "Competition and trade in Azerbaijan" is to improve the local business climate, to improve tax legislation and to support agricultural development.
The areas of future cooperation, in particular those to improve tax legislation, to promote cashless payment transactions were determined.
