Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Jan. 27 / Trend H.Hasanov /

In accordance with signed agreements, national trade houses are expected to open in Turkmenistan and Turkey, Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov wrote this week in a greeting.

The greeting was sent to the participants of a Turkish building-materials exhibition, which presents advanced technologies and state-of-the-art equipment in Ashgabat.

"In active collaboration with our Turkish partners, industrial, social, economic and cultural facilities have been built and are under construction in our country. Illustrative examples include new facilities in the oil and gas, power, textile and construction industries. This is reason to enhance the economic cooperation between our two nations," Berdimuhammedov noted.

"This large-scale action is of considerable importance for building up cooperation between Turkmen and Turkish builders, identifying the vectors of joint activity to implement future projects in the construction and building materials industries and open up good opportunities to expand cooperation with Turkish companies," the message reads.

About 600 companies with Turkish capital operate on the Turkmen market in such fields as industry, construction, trade and transport. Turkey imports Turkmen electricity through Iran. Negotiations are underway on the possible purchase of natural gas.
