Iran’s kerosene consumption declines by 11.2 percent

According to the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC), overall kerosene consumption in Iran during the current Iranian calendar week ending Feb. 4 stood at 109.7 million liters, or down by 13.8 million liters (11.2 percent) compared to a week earlier which started Jan. 22, 2011.

National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) was established in 1928.

The company has been responsible for supply and distribution of oil products for over 80 years.

NIOPDC has 86 oil products' depots with capacity of around 11.5 billion liters, over 2,850 fuel stations (200 governmental and 2,650 private ones), 45 aviation fuelling centers, about 15,000 oil and gas tankers and oil products' transfer pipelines and fuel carrying vessels.

A major portion of the required products of the country is produced in Iran's local refineries and the rest is imported.
