The trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in 2010 amounted to $1.5 billion, Kazakh Ambassador to Uzbekistan Boribay Zheksembin said at a briefing.
"We are the third trade-economic partner for Uzbekistan among the countries with which the country conducts basic import-export operations," the Kazakh ambassador said.
According to the Uzbek State Statistics Committee, as of 2009, the volume of trade between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan amounted to $1.315 billion. Thus, the Uzbek-Kazakh trade turnover increased by 14 percent in 2010.
He said that it is planned to bring the bilateral trade volume up to $2 billion in 2011.
It was reported that the foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan increased by 3 percent up to $21,842.4 million in 2010 compared to 2009. The volume of foreign trade with CIS countries last year increased by 17.7 percent - up to $9,424.5 million.
