The head of state signed the law on the amendments and additions to the acts concerning mortgage lending and protection of the rights of consumers of financial services and investors, Kazakhstan Today reports.
According to the president's press service, the law is directed at strengthening of the rights of consumers of financial services, giving to citizens guarantee on mortgages and increasing of responsibility of officials of joint-stock companies.
As informed earlier, the law introduces amendments to the new article 40-1 of the Law of Kazakhstan on Banks and Banking Activities in Kazakhstan in regards to formation of a council of representatives, which will select the Financial Ombudsman and will be dealing with other questions connected with activities of the Financial Ombudsman.
