Some $65.7 million transferred to Georgia in January

The volume of remittances to Georgia in January 2011 hit $65.7 million, which is 9.7 million or 17.4 percent more than in January 2010.

As the National Bank of Georgia told Trend, 52.4 percent of the total amount of remittances - $34.5 million were transferred in January from Russia. It is $5.4 million more than a year ago.
Remittances from Greece last month hit $5.3 million, from the U.S. - $5.1 million, from Italy - $4.9 million, from Ukraine - $3.5 million.
These countries accounted for 80.9 percent of remittances to Georgia from abroad in January.

Georgia's remittances to abroad hit $5.9 million in January 2011 compared to $5.2 million in January 2010.
