Iran , Iraq, Syria and European company officials will discuss details for financing the gas pipelineconstruction to transfer Iran's gas to Europe, FNA reported quoting the Managing Director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Javad Oji as saying.

He did not inform which European company will participate in talks just saying that four-party talks to discuss the financing of gas pipelineconstruction will be held.

Earlier Oji said that in pursuit of previous bilateral talks Iran and Syria reached an agreement upon a new route to transfer Iran's gas to Europe.

"Under the new deal between the two countries, a gas pipeline will transfer Iran's gas to Iraq and Syrian territories feeding their power plants and next through Southern Lebanon will extend to Mediterranean Sea and Europe," Oji said.

Oji also noted that under a trilateral deal among Iran, Iraq and Syria an international consultant would be chosen to design the gas pipeline route and assess its construction economically.

According to Oji, the length of the 56-inch gas pipeline is estimated to be 2,000 kilometers, 700 to 1,000 kilometers of which, depending on the route, would be laid in Iran.

Evaluating the gas transfer capacity 110 million cubic meters per day, Oji said the length of the pipeline in the Iraqi territory would be about 500 kilometers and in Syria from 500 to 700 kilometers.

Oji said that by construction of the pipeline Iraq's gas demand will, be met at from 10 to 15 million cubic meters a day, Syria's from 15 to 20 million cubic meters and Southern Lebanon's from 5 to 7 million cubic meters.

On the price formula, NIGC official noted that the price would be determined by the consortium that is slated to construct the pipeline.

Estimating the cost of pipeline from $2 to $2.5 billion, Oji added.

Iran and Syria signed new documents on oil and gas during the Iranian minister of petroleum and some other oil and gas officials' visit to Syrian.
