The Uzbek Akhangarancement's net income was 91.103 billion soum in the fourth quarter of 2010 against 68.895 billion soum during the same period in 2009, the company said.
The net revenue from the realization of goods rose from 181.611 billion soum in the fourth quarter of 2009 to 220.044 billion soum in the same period of 2010.
Gross profit from goods realization made up 131.382 billion soum against 109.262 billion soum in the reporting period. Profit from general economic activity made up 129.66 billion soum in the fourth quarter of 2010 compared to 94.231 billion soum in the same period of 2009.
Last year, the company produced 1.74 million tons of cement compared to 1.77 million tons a year earlier.
Akhangarancement was commissioned in 1961. Its production capacity is approximately 1.8 million tons of cement on a wet method of production.
The Russian Eurocement Group bought a 75.6 percent stake in Akhangarancement in August 2006. The cost of the transaction has not been disclosed. The Russian company has purchased a package of 50 percent, owned by the Uzbek-Swiss joint venture Bentonite, and 25.6 percent from the Swiss Zeromax GmbH. The authorized capital of the enterprise is 4.928 billion soum.
The Eurocement Group controls an 83.67 percent stake in the plant at present. Other shareholders are individuals.
Uzbekistan has six cement plants with a total installed capacity of about 7 million tons. The largest ones are Kyzylkumcement (3.08 million tons), Akhangarancement (1.8 million tons) and Kuvasaytsement (920,000 tons).
The official exchange rate is 1664.52 soum to $1 on Feb. 24.
