Investment worth $70 billion is needed for completing the projects, which have been started, but have not been completed by the Iranian Roads and Transportation Ministry, IRNA news agency quotes Acting Minister Ali Nikzad, as saying.

Nikzad added that $6.5 billion has been allocated from the state budget to the Roads and Transportation Ministry.

"Therefore, priority projects will be selected and funds will be allocated for their implementation. At the same time we also plan to fund the projects through private sector," he said.

Iranian Parliament dismissed the Roads and Transportation Minister Hamid Bahbahani from his post on Feb.1. One of the reasons for his dismissal was failure to fulfill promises given regarding the development in the transportation sphere and road construction.
