Georgia has ranked 73rd in the ranking of countries on the competitiveness in the sphere of tourism and travel, the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) analysts’ report published on Monday, says.

Georgia has ranked 73rd in the ranking of countries on the competitiveness in the sphere of tourism and travel, the World Economic Forum's (WEF) analysts' report published on Monday, says.

In total, each of 139 countries, which came in view of the WEF analysts, was assessed on 14 criteria - from regulatory base and ecological sustainability to security and capabilities in the field of infrastructure of human, cultural and natural resources.

Azerbaijan ranks 83rd, while Armenia - 90 th, Turkey - 50 th.
Switzerland led the ranking of countries on the competitiveness in the sphere of tourism and travel. The country is followed by Germany, France, Austria, Sweden, USA, UK, Spain, Canada and Singapore.

The report says that after a difficult global economic crisis, the tourism sphere began to revive and the growth across the world hit 5.6 percents in 2010.
