Georgia invites companies to manage Kutaisi airport

The Georgian government invites companies to prequalify for the expression of interest in the operation and development of the Kutaisi airport, the Georgian Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry reported.

Kutaisi airport LTD is a 100 % state owned limited liability company, incorporated under the laws of Georgia, located 20 kms from the second largest city of Georgia. It comprises 30.5 hectares of land and 2300 m2 of building space.

Its current carrier capacity passengers per hour and is operated by Kutaisi airport LTD. The airport has the capacity to operate without any seasonal limitations, 24 hours per day.

The Government of Georgia may consider either: The sale of assets of Kutaisi airport LTD at a symbolic price of 1 US dollar subject to the re-development of Kutaisi airport to international standards and the operation of Kutaisi airport to service any low budget airlines mainly operating in Europe with annual passenger capacity of no less than 20 million.

Alternatively companies to present proposals of for the operation of Kutaisi airport to service any low budget airlines mainly operating in Europe with annual passenger capacity of no less than 20 million.

Georgia may consider co-financing of the project subject to the successful companies satisfying the above requirements.

Interested parties are requested to submit their company profile including official name and address, contact information, background statement and key financial indicators.

A brief proposal in respect of Kutaisi airport shall contain vision and model of development for the airport, including information on the period and terms of operation, passenger capacity, airport re-development costs, handling fees, any governmental co-financing required for the project, indicating approximate amount of such co-financing per annum, etc.
