Roughly 1 million tons of cotton crop were processed at Turkmenpagta's 35 ginning factories in 2010.
Turkmenistan grows cotton in five provinces -- Akhal, Mary, Lebap,
Dashoguz and Balkan. The sown area is 545,000 hectares. Cotton is sowed in April and gathered from August to October.
The contractual obligations were fulfilled in 2010.
About 1.3 million tons of cotton were gathered instead of the planned 1.05 million tons.
