Foreigners must be insured in Iran

According to the new law approved by the Iranian Cabinet of Ministers, foreigners and their family members living in this country must purchase a policy on compulsory insurance against occupational accidents and diseases at one of the insurance companies, the website of the Iranian television iribnews.ir reported.

According to the report ad hoc instructions must be provided by the Iranian Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Social Protection and the Central Bank to implement the new law.

According to the new law, it is forbidden to stay in Iran without the insurance policy. The document also states that foreigners wishing to visit Iran without an insurance policy will not be granted a visa.
