Iran records two-digit growth rate in steel production

Iran 's steel production increased by 10.6 percent to over 2.33 million tons during first two months of this solar year (started on March 20, 2011), Fars News Agency reported quoting deputy of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) Mohammad Masoud Samienejad as saying.

The private sector has increased production capacities to 44 percent, while the private companies produced 165,000 tons of steel ingots during first two months of this solar year.

Mobarake Steel Company, Khozestan Steel Company and Esfahan Steel Company had the highest rate of steel production in Iran.

Samienejad predicted new steel companies to double the steel production.
