Anglo Asian Mining starts gold production at new field in Azerbaijan

The Anglo Asian Mining Plc company, only gold producer in Azerbaijan, plans to produce 25,000-30,000 ounces of gold at the Gosha field by late next year, the company CEO Reza Veziri told Trend on Saturday.

The Anglo Asian Mining Plc company, only gold producer in Azerbaijan, plans to produce 25,000-30,000 ounces of gold at the Gosha field by late next year, the company CEO Reza Veziri told Trend on Saturday.
"Previously, the company submitted a document confirming the discovery of gold reserves at this field, which was adapted by the Azerbaijani side, to the government. The company has already started construction of a plant to develop the new field. Thus, it is planned to produce 25,000-30,000 ounces of gold at the field and send to market until the end of next year," Veziri said.
He said there are also positive results of exploration at the fields of Ordubad, Maarif and Gedabek.
"According to the latest exploration data, we project increase in reserves at the Gedabek field from 300,000 ounces to 700,000 ounces of gold," he said.
Anglo Asian Mining owns the rights to develop six fields in southwest Azerbaijan, including Gedabek, Ordubad, Gosha Bulag, Gizil Bulag, Vejnali and Soyutlu. The concession is based on PSA agreements signed with the Azerbaijani government in Aug. 1997. Gold and silver were first discovered through mining in Gedabek in May 2009. According to the contract, it is planned to produce about 400 tons of gold, 2,500 tons of silver and 1.5 million tons of copper.
