Iran's zinc ingots production hit 89,000 tons

Iran 's zinc ingots production reached 89,000 tons in last solar year (ends March 20,2011), Fars News Agency reported quoting Managing Director of Zinc Mines Development Group Mohammad Ebrahim Forouzandeh as saying.

Iran's zinc ingots production reached 89,000 tons in last solar year (ends March 20,2011), Fars News Agency reported quoting Managing Director of Zinc Mines Development Group Mohammad Ebrahim Forouzandeh as saying.

"Iran zinc concentrate production increased to 528,000 tones while the production of Lead concentrate reached 28,000 tones and produced 93,000 tons of sulfuric acid," he said.

Total sale of Iran's lead, zinc ingots alongside zinc and lead concentrate last solar year increased to $210 million.

According to Forouzandeh, despite sanctions, the Zinc Mines Development Group predicts to sell 70 to 80 percent of its products in current solar year (started on March 20, 2011).

The United States has stepped up its efforts to isolate Iran-linked commercial entities tied to nuclear program since the United Nations Security Council ordered a fourth set of sanctions against Iran in June 2010.
