Azerbaijan plans to create a universal telephone information service, which would provide service to all state agencies engaged in the economic sphere, Deputy Taxes Minister Sahib Alekperov said at an event dedicated to the Day of Human Rights Protection.
"Work on the creation of the universal telephone inquiry service is provided on the basis of the Taxes Ministry's information service - 195", he said. "Work on this project was launched in last August and a relevant draft decision of the Cabinet of Ministers has already been developed. Positive feedback was received from all economic state agencies and now an agreement should be reached on the accession to the ministry's universal telephone information service."

"The project aims to increase the efficiency of state support provided to entrepreneurs, improvement and simplification of the relationship between the state and its employers, and improvement of the legal and economic education of the population," he said.
The 195-inquiry service has operated since late 2003 and then applied only in Baku. Taxpayers throughout the country have been able to use this service free of charge since 2006. A 195-2-inquiry service was established on Sept.1, 2009, for the Economic Development Ministry. The service was tied to the Tax Ministry's Help Center.
The service operates round the clock in two modes -- automatic and direct. Since early 2011 the service has received 108,419 appeals, some 57,301 of which were received in the automatic mode.

The inquiry service will provide timely information on tax legislation without the need to visit tax authorities.
