Some 3 . 416 billion manat was invested in the economy of Azerbaijan in January- May , an increase of 12.1 percent from the figures of January- May 2010, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee reported.
Investments for repair and construction work made up 58. 4 percent totaling 1.996 billion manat. Investment for the construction of production facilities totaled some 1.643 million manat, while non-production facilities totaled 1.773 billion manat.
The special weight of internal investments made up 75.9 percent. Most (36.9 percent ) of domestic investment is embedded in state-owned enterprises and entities, and only 36.9 billion manat to private enterprise.
About 964.4 million manat was directed to the construction of facilities, funding of which is realized at the expense of budget funds (3.476 million) .
Major sources of investing were funds of enterprises and organizations (1.948 billion manat or 57 percent of the total amount of investments), bank credits (239. 8 million manat, 7 percent), budget funds ( 1.024 million manat, 30 percent), non-budgetary funds (100.7 million manat, 2.9 percent), population's personal funds (101.9 million, 3 percent) and other means - 2.2 million manat (0.1 percent).
Of the total amount 6 9 . 5 percent were directed (2.372 billion manat) to the development of non-oil sector, 12.8 percent (436.4 million manat) - non-oil industrial sector, 30.5 percent (1.042 million manat) - oil sector.
About 43.3 percent of investments fell to industrial areas, 3.6 percent - agriculture, forestry and fishery, 6 percent - trade, 18.2 percent - transport, 2.5 percent - communications, 1.2 percent - construction, 1.4 percent -healthcare, 1.7 percent - education, 10.3 percent - real estate transactions (of which 10. 1 percent - housing), 4.4 percent - sports, entertainment and culture, 4.4 percent - state management, 0.1 percent - financial and insurance activity, 0.5 percent - administrative and support services and 0.4 percent - other spheres.
The official exchange rate is 0.7978 manat to $1 on June 16.
