Today the epizootic situation in Azerbaijan remains stable, State Veterinary Service Head Siala Rustamova told Trend on Monday.

"The service conducts the full spectrum of seasonal events and vaccinations. Thus, there are no problematic situations now," Rustamova said.

She said that the weather has been unstable recently, so now parasitical-blood diseases are in focus.
"Heavy rainfalls have been replaced by heat during the last days, so we are working to combat parasitical diseases. This is a seasonal activity," Rustamov said.

A twinning project was launched to support the Azerbaijani State Veterinary Service in preparation of the National Animal Identification and Farm Registration System on Friday. The project was funded by the European Union and will be implemented by Poland and Spain.

The overall goal of the project is to improve food security of consumers, continuing to make reforms in the spheres of sanitation and phytosanitation, and facilitating trade.

The project will last for one year, with 21 million euros allocated for its implementation.
