Iran plans to continue railway line to Azerbaijan for boosting cargo transit between two countries in the near future.

Iran plans to continue railway line to Azerbaijan for boosting cargo transit between two countries in the near future, Fars News Agency reported quoting Deputy Minister of Roads and Transportation Shahriyar Afandizadeh.

"Considering bilateral cooperation between two countries in cargo transit we can boost the economical resources in expanding railway and road connections," he said.

Iran's Roads and Transportation Ministry plans to expand railway route from Qazvin-Rasht-Astara line to Azerbaijan to transit commodities and cargo.

More than 140 000 trucks and 2 million passengers moved from joint border between Iran and Azerbaijan. Borders of the two countries located in cargo transit route.

Deputy Minister of Roads and Transportation attended the ceremony of launching Iran- Nakhjavan Border Bridge Friday.
