Azerbaijani Insurers Association sums up activity in second quarter

The Azerbaijani Insurers Association (ASA) summed up the results of the activity and announced the plans for the future at the last meeting, ASA executive director Azer Aliyev told Trend.

"The association conducted courses for insurers iIn the second quarter of the year," he said. "A journal on insurance was issued. The Azerbaijani second international insurance forum was organized. The recommendations on health insurance were prepared for insurance companies."

He said that serious work was conducted within the preparation for the law "Compulsory types of insurance". It was adopted by the Azerbaijani Parliament in late June.

"A special working group was established to revise the law," he said. "The meetings were held with parliamentary committees on social policy and economic policy. The ASA's legal committee collected comments on the insurance companies on the law and sent to the civil insurance supervision service."

He said that the budget of the association was also heard at the meeting.

At present, there are one reinsurance and 28 insurance companies in Azerbaijan. All of them are the ASA members.
