Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed his dissatisfaction with the Ministry of Agriculture's activity, the press service of the Turkmen government said.

The President held a working meeting to discuss the course of seasonal agricultural operations. Cotton is planned to be picked and grain to be sown in August.

"The Turkmen president expressed his dissatisfaction with activity of the Ministry of Agriculture in connection with shortages in industrial development", a statement said.

President Berdimuhamedov called for Minister Merdan Bayramov to rapidly fix existing gaps.

Regarding the use of agricultural technologies, the president expressed serious dissatisfaction with work conducted in this direction by the "Turkmenobahyzmat" association.

According to experts, there is a great cotton crop in this year's fields. About 1.3 million tons of raw cotton was collected, instead of the 1.05 million tons planned in 2010.

The 1.3 million tons of wheat was collected despite dry weather conditions, providing enough wheat for domestic demand and seeds for the next year's harvest.
