Iran, Kazakhstan to establish Chamber of Commerce

Joint Chamber of Commerce of the two countries would be established in a bid to expand mutual economic ties, the Head of Iran-Kazakhstan Friendship Association Ghasem Momeni said, ISNA reported.

"Kazakhstan held the rotating presidency of the UN Security Council in 2010 and it now heads the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC)," Momeni told.

The Chairman of Iran-Kazakhstan Friendship Association continued, "Kazakhstan is one of the key countries in Euro-Asia especially in energy export."

Momeni went on to say that, "there have not been consistent bilateral trade relations among private sector, businessmen and merchants of the two countries so far."

He added, "lack of formation of Chamber of Commerce and real economic cooperation between Tehran and Astana have left financial exchanges at a low level."
