Azerbaijani banks' total assets increase by nearly 8 percent

Total assets of Azerbaijani banks as of early July, 2011 amounted to 13.14 billion manat, which is 7.9 percent more compared to early July 2010, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan said.

Total assets of Azerbaijani banks as of early July, 2011 amounted to 13.14 billion manat, which is 7.9 percent more compared to early July 2010, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan said.

Banks' investments amounted to 1.22 billion manat, increasing by 36.3 percent compared to July 2010, loans allocated to customers - 583.6 million manat. The volume of loans and deposits issued by the financial sector amounted to 8.3 billion manat. Funds on correspondent accounts for the period amounted to 1.145.2 million manat. Cash of Azerbaijani banks amounted to 536.9 million manat.

Total liabilities of Azerbaijani banks as of July 1, 2010 amounted to 10.872 billion manat, increasing by 7.4 percent during the year. Some 5.65 billion manat falls to deposits, and 4.37 billion manat - loans and deposits received from the financial market.

The official exchange rate is 0.7865 manat to $1 on Aug.17.
