İran Statistical Center indicates 19.6 percent inflation rate

The Statistical Center of Iran has issued a report on the country's inflation rate from June 21 to July 22, indicating 19.6 percent, Fars News Agency reported quoting member of Planning and Budget commission Musalreza Servati as saying

"The Statistical Center of Iran reported unemployment rate was 13.5 percent and country's inflation rate for the past twelve months until July was 19.6 percent," he said.

The Central Bank of Iran statistics however reported inflation rate was 16.3 percent during this time.

Iranian MPs insist that the Statistical Center of Iran should publicly issue reports of economic statistics of past three months, he added.

The Statistical Center of Iran issued a report on country's inflation rate from April 21 to May 20 was 16.7 percent while the Central Bank of Iran statistics indicated the inflation rate from May 20 to June 21 was 15.4 percent.

Previously the Governor of Central Bank of Iran Mahmoud Bahmani said the inflation rate would continue to reduce in coming months and the CBI plans to reduce the inflation rate in the next Iranian calendar year (starts on March 21, 2012).
