The next five-sided meeting of heads of sea ports of Caspian littoral states will be held in Turkmenbashi on September 22-23, official Turkmen source told Trend.

According to the information, the upcoming forum is expected to focus on the issues of increasing turnover between the Caspian Sea ports, attracting investments and developing potential of sea ports in the Caspian Sea.

The preparation for this event was discussed at the governmental meeting in Turkmenistan. Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov ordered to hold a meeting at the highest level.

"There are huge opportunities to expand cooperation in the field of maritime transport and to intensify foreign economic relations of the Caspian countries," the Turkmen President was quoted by local TV channels as saying.

The Caspian Sea washes the shores of Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Iran and Turkmenistan.

Local media reported that a new port will be constructed on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea soon.

Many biggest world companies have expressed their desire to take part in the reconstruction and technical modernization of harbor.
