Over 15 percent of total loan volumes account for Azerbaijani regions

In January-July 2011, loans issued to the population in Azerbaijani regions have reached 1.374.9 billion manat, or 15.1 percent of the total loan volume issued by Azerbaijani banks, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan said on Tuesday.
As of Aug.1, the total lending volume in the country has reached 9.120.2 billion manat, whereas loans in the national currency were at the level of 5.723.3 billion manat. This figure on Baku hit 7.745.3 billion manat, where 4.721.8 billion manat accounted for loans in the national currency. The average interest rate in the country during the reporting period reached 16.5 percent; in Baku it has reached 15.9 percent.
The lending volume in the Absheron economic region has reached 331.1 million manat, at an average rate of 18.2 percent, Aran - 276.4 million manat at 21.5 percent, Daglig Shirvan - 30.9 million manat at 19.5 percent, Ganja-Gazakh - 247 million manat at 21.6 percent , Guba-Khachmaz - 88.96 million manat at 21.8 percent, Lankaran - 111.5 million manat at 24.9 percent, Sheki-Zagatala - 209.8 million manat at 17.1 percent, Upper Karabakh - 10.2 million manat at 19.3 percent, Kelbajar-Lachin - 21.5 million manat at 16.3 percent , Nakhchivan - 66.9 million manat at 11.6 percent.
The official exchange rate was 0.7869 manat to $1 on Sept. 27.
