Regular flights will be launched between Almaty (Kazakhstan) and Hong Kong (China) by the end of 2011, Deputy Chairman of Kazakh National Welfare Fund Samruk Kazyna Aidan Karibzhanov said.

"National air-company Air-Astana intends to carry out two flights a week from Almaty to Hong Kong by the end of 2011," he told journalists on Sunday.

Regular flights and cancellation of visa regime between Kazakhstan and China could boost business ties and promote tourism development, he believes.

"It will enable Chinese people to know us better," Karibzhanov said.

Late last week Hong Kong hosted the First Kazakhstan Equity Capital Raising & Investment Forum.

To implement its big industrial projects Kazakhstan requires significant investments. Hong Kong has one of the purest capitalist economies in the world. This is a global financial centre with free capital flows.

Hong Kong's stock exchange ranks the seventh in the world due to its market capitalization, and is the first in Asia.
