Draft state budget for 2012 presented to Georgian Parliament

A new draft state budget for 2012 was presented to the Georgian Parliament, chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee Zurab Melikishvili said on Monday.

He said that all issues raised during the recent meetings between MPs and the population will be considered while considering the budget in parliament and during the consultations between the government and relevant committees.

Melikishvili said that the budget will increase by 3.23 million lari ($ 1 = 1.66 lari) and hit 764.3 billion lari compared to 2011.

The GDP is planned to increase by 5.5 percent, or 3 billion lari, and no minal GDP will hit 26.5 billion lari . If the budget deficit was 6.6 percent in 2010, it will reduce to 3.6 percent in 2012.

The Parliament must return the considered draft budget for revision to the government before October 20.
