Azerbaijan to increase costs for public debt service in 2012

The costs of Azerbaijan's public debt service in 2012 will amount to 362.4 million manat, according to a draft of Azerbaijan's state and consolidated budget for 2012 and three subsequent years posted on the Finance Ministry's official website on Tuesday.

Compared to 2011, this figure will increase by 4.5 percent, or 15.7 million manat.
Some 235.9 million manat of the total costs for debt service accounted for the country's foreign debt service, which has increased by 9.7 million manat or 4.3 percent than in 2011.

Some 126.5 million manat is expected to be directed to domestic debt service, which means an increase of 6.1 million manat, or five percent.

As of the late first half of 2011, the country's internal debt amounted to 2.361.2 billion manat. During the reporting period, the amount of loans which are used and are foreign public debt hit $4.512.6 billion.

The official exchange rate is 0.7868 manat to $1 on Oct.12.
