There has been a massive leap in revenue to the coffers of the Azerbaijani state budget which totalled 8.979 billion manat in the first nine months of this year, or 105.6 per cent of its forecast. This exceeds last year's by 1.474 billion manat, or 19.6 per cent, Finance Minister Samir Sharifov said during a meeting of Cabinet of Ministers chaired by President Aliyev and dedicated to the budget for the first nine months of 2011.

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Taxes exceeded its deductions target to the state budget by 12.4 per cent.

Taxation amounted to 4.063 billion manat, exceeding the corresponding figure for the same period of last year by 936 million manat, or 29.9 per cent.
The State Customs Committee exceeded its revenue forecast for by 0.2 per cent (1.5 million manat). It provided transferring 843 million manat, or 15.4 per cent (113 million manat) more than the corresponding figure for the same period of last year.

The State Oil Fund's deductions to the budget amounted to 4.021 billion manat. The budget received 48.8 million manat from other earnings, or 3.7 times, or 31 million manat more than the corresponding period of last year. The earnings to the state budget from private sector increased by 27.7 per cent, or 684 million manat compared to the same period of last year. The share increased by 2.2 per cent hitting 34.1 per cent.

The state budget expenditures amounted to 8.735 billion manat for the three quarters of this year. The forecast reached 87.7 per cent. The budgetary expenditures exceed the similar figure by 1.898 billion manat, or 27.8 per cent for the corresponding period of last year.
During the reporting period, the socio-directed expenditures amounted to 2.962 billion manat, or 33.9 per cent of the funds received by the state budget. This exceeds the corresponding period of last year by 420 million manat, or 16.5 per cent.

About 1.063 billion manat was spent to pay for scholarships and social allowances (increased by 20.2 per cent, or 178.3 million manat compared to the same period of last year), on payroll - 1.77 billion manat (14.5 per cent or 224 million manat), costs to buy food and medicines - 129 million manat (15.9 per cent or 18 million manat).

The official exchange rate is 0.7869 manat to $1.
