Iran’s non-oil exports up 35%, hit $24 bln in 7 months

Iran has exported some 43.8 million tons of non-oil goods, including gas condensates, valued at around $24 billion, in the first seven months of the current calendar year (ended October 24), the Iranian Customs Administration stated.

Iran has exported some 43.8 million tons of non-oil goods, including gas condensates, valued at around $24 billion, in the first seven months of the current calendar year (ended October 24), the Iranian Customs Administration stated.

The amount shows 10.4 percent growth in terms of weight and 35.5 percent rise in terms of value compared with the same period last year, the Mehr news agency reported.

Iran's value of imports in the mentioned period of time reached $34.5 billion, showing 12.5 percent decline in comparison to the same period last year.

Previously, Trade Promotion Organization chief Hamid Safdel had said the value of non-oil exports is expected to hit $43 billion in the current year and $50.5 billion in the year after.

Safdel also said the government backs exporters to help increase non-oil exports.
