Uzbekistan Havo Yollari, Uzbekistan Airways, commissioned a new international terminal at the Bukhara International Airport, which meets all international standards, the company reported.
"All international flights from Bukhara will be implemented from the new terminal from Oct.31," the report reads.
The new terminal was built in accordance with the presidential resolution "On the acceleration of infrastructure development, transport and communications construction in 2011-2015."
New international terminal can render services to 400 passengers an hour. The terminal will help to increase tourism potential of Uzbekistan. It has arrival and departure halls, VIP and CIP halls, mother and children room, medical points, ticket offices, currency exchange points, postal department, Duty Free shop.
The terminal is equipped with modern equipment, best possible environment created for passengers and airport services rendered around the clock.
The cost of the project made up about $14.6 million. The project was financed through the company's own funds.
The airport can receive all types of aircrafts in line with international requirements. The Bukhara International Airport served 1,914 flights in nine months of 2011 and transported over 74,100 passengers, which is 19 percent more compared to the planned volume.
In 2010, the Bukhara International Airport for the third time was the winner in nomination "The best airport in the CIS countries" with traffic volumes of more than 100 million passengers a year.
