The Iranian government plans to propose single-rate gasoline to the domestic market in the long term, deputy head in headquarters for Management of Transport and Fuel Abdollah Jalali stated.

According to the subsidy reform plan, gasoline must be offered at a single-rate across the country in the long-term prospect, Abdollah Jalali told Mehr news agency.

The consumption of four highly-consumed fuels in Iran has rather decreased after the subsidy reform plan was implemented, the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) managing director said.

The consumption of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), gasoline, kerosene and diesel reduced after the subsidy reform plan was implemented in the country in December 2010, Fars news agency quoted Jalil Salari as saying on October 20.

The subsidy reform plan allows the Iranian government to gradually reduce subsidies on fuel, electricity, and certain goods over the five years.
