Three candidates want the post of vice president at the Canadian Centerra Gold Inc. in Kyrgyzstan, Kyrgyzaltyn Deputy Director Amanbek Ukubala told KirTAG on Wednesday.

Three candidates want the post of vice president at the Canadian Centerra Gold Inc. in Kyrgyzstan, Kyrgyzaltyn Deputy Director Amanbek Ukubala told KirTAG on Wednesday.

"Kyrgyzstan's interests in Centerra Gold will now be defended by the country's representative," Ukubala said.

He said the Kyrgyz government has negotiated the appointment of a Kyrgyz citizen as vice president.
"A special Kyrgyzaltyn commission selected six candidates. At the moment, the Canadian side is choosing three candidates and invited them for an interview in Canada. They are Kylychbek Shakirov, Turat Usubaliev and Tengiz Bolturukov," Ukubayev said.

All candidates have extensive experience working in both Kyrgyz and international mining companies. Approved vice president will work in the Kyrgyz office in Canada and represent the interests of Kyrgyzstan.

Kyrgyzstan is one of the shareholders of the Canadian company Centerra Gold Inc. The share of Kyrgyzstan in the company is 33 percent.
