Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov has talked about the "inadmissibility of failures in cotton harvest time", "Altyn Asir" national TV channel reported on Friday.

This issue was discussed with the government agricultural industry superintendents and leaders of the regional administration.

Mr Berdimuhammadov demanded "to set a consistent continuance of the efficient use of agricultural machinery, transportation, and coordinated work of all units involved at harvest time".

In addition, Mr Berdimuhammadov suggested that regional leaders keep a timely mutual settlement of accounts with farmers under control.

About one million 50,000 tons of cotton are destined to be collected from 550,000 hectares of land this year. The soil and climatic characteristics of each region received special attention with agricultural machinery from the U.S. and Belarus being used at the sowing time.

About one million 300,000 tons of cotton were picked, against the one million 50,000 tons harvested in 2010.
