Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev ordered the government and the Kazakh National Welfare Fund Samruk Kazyna to create a united transportation and logistics company in the country, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported.
"A united transportation and logistics company of the international level must be created," Nazarbayev said at agro-industrial forum in Astana on Friday.
Nazarbayev said that the country's railways, motorways, aviation and river transport must be united and have one centre.
Kazakhstan faced a shortage of grain elevators and grain carries due to record harvest this year.
"We must increase grain storage and transportation capacity, create a multi-modal transportation and logistics infrastructure," the president said. "It is a task for governors and social-entrepreneurial corporations at all levels."
