"AtaHolding" OJSC has held the first international friendly football match with a team "Sibur Holding", the leader in the petrochemical industry in Eastern Europe and Russia, the holding said in its press release on Monday.
Mini-football match was held between teams of two holdings at a football stadium of "Excelsior Hotel Baku" on Nov.13, 2011.
The friendly meeting stuck in memory by the sharp rivalry and end in a draw with a score of 5:5.
At the end of the game the teams were presented with cups and gifts. Vice-Chairman of the Executive Board of "AtaHolding" OJSC Adigozal Agayev handed over the cup to the Russian team and Chairman of the Executive Board of "AtaBank" OJSC Iltifat Agayev to the Azerbaijani team.
Chairman of Executive Board Farid Asadov commented the friendly match: "The mini-football match held with the same team of Russian company "Sibur Holding" is our first international friendly match. "AtaHolding" team intends to continue these meetings with teams of leading companies of different countries. The goal is growth of sports friendship formed during contests into business relations. On the other hand, such meetings serve to better brand recognizability and improvement of the image of the holding and our country in the world".
General director of "Sibur Holding" Dmitry Konov said on the occasion of the game: "It was a pleasure to play with the team of the leading holding of Azerbaijan. The friendly match served to the increase in the number of our friends in this country. As in their work, the players of the teams have demonstrated their professionalism in the game as well. We familiarized with Azerbaijan and its capital and saw good growth of national economy and new interesting projects. I hope for development of our friendly relationships in the future".
