About 900,000 billion rials ($90 billion) of the government properties and 500 public companies have been assigned to private sector so far, IRNA quoted chairman of the Iranian Expediency Discernment Council of the System Gholam-Reza Heidari Kord Zanganeh as saying.
"This is big progress; however there are still some challenges," he said.
About 330,000 people are out of the public sector to follow the article 44 (privatization) of the constitution, Zanganeh said during the 2nd International Construction Industry Conference which was held in Olympic Hotel, Tehran.
"About 142 statements are predicted to reinforce private sector, based on the fifth development plan," former manager director of Iranian Privatization Organization Zanganeh added.
