Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia to cooperate in space exploration

Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia signed an agreement in Riyadh on cooperation in exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes, Kazakh National Space Agency KazCosmos reported.

The agreement was signed by Chairman of the Kazakh National Space Agency KazCosmos Talgat Musabayev and President of the King Abdul Aziz Saudi City for Science and Technology Dr. Ahmed Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Abdulqader.

"This agreement creates a legal and institutional framework for mutually beneficial cooperation in this direction and opportunity for scientists of both countries working in the field of space research to organize joint scientific workshops and conferences on scientific and technical information exchange," the report said.

Kazcosmos delegation headed by Chairman of the Kazakh National Space Agency Talgat Musabayev was on visit to Saudi Arabia on Nov. 18-20.

Earlier the similar agreement was signed with the UAE.
