Azerbaijan, Baku, November 21 / Trend, E. Ismailov /

GoldenPay is developing a program to allow making non-cash payments through mobile telephones in Azerbaijan, GoldenPay Head Farid Ismailzadeh told journalists on Monday.

"The program is prepared for BlackBerry and iPhone mobile telephones and android-based telephones. The use of the new program will provide the possibility of non-cash payments for housing services, cable television, and Internet services," Ismailzadeh said.

The company plans to launch the new program next year, he noted.
"The spread of the third generation (3G) mobile link network in Azerbaijan promotes development of this direction as high-speed Internet access through telephones will ease making non-cash payments," Ismailzadeh noted.

There is a growing number of users of Internet portal www.hesab.az,,through which making non-cash-payments for services above will become possible, he added. Particularly, an automatic payments system to be put into effect will improve its efficiency, particularly, when a client, after having used his/her card once, should not worry about payments for housing services, etc. In future, the system will make such payments automatically. It is also planned to launch SMS system to warn of payments.
Currently, the number of users of the said Website is 5,000-6,000. "However, the Website has not yet been advertised. We plan to begin advertising it early next year to provide an increase of the number of its users," Ismailzadeh said.

The number of state institutions going over to non-cash payments for certain kinds of services gradually increases, he noted. Particularly, GoldenPay has been asked by the State Standardization, Metrology and Patents Committee, and the Baku Stock Exchange to develop a program envisioning non-cash payments for services.
